The world’s largest and most environmentally adapted car and truck carrying ship, m/v ANIARA was named August 30 in Bremerhaven, Germany. The Lady Sponsor is Mrs. Josiane Marie-Noëlle Liebherr, wife of Dr. Willi Liebherr, CEO and president of Liebherr GmbH, a leading international supplier of cranes, excavators, and mining equipment, and a key customer for operator Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.

PureBallast receives full IMO approval

Wallenius Water and Alfa Laval have worked together to produce PureBallast, which has now been given full approval by the DNV, a global, independent certification body, together with the UN’s marine body the IMO (International Maritime Organization). It is the first and so far only chemical-free ballast water treatment in the world to have been approved by the IMO.

m/v FEDORA latest addition to the Wallenius fleet

Extension of Ocean Carrier Contract for EUKOR Car Carriers

Wallenius Lines’s (OW) partly owned Korean shipping company EUKOR Car Carriers has agreed with Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) and Kia Motors Corporation (KMC) to extend the freight agreement entered into in 2002 when EUKOR was established.

Wallenius Lines (OW) and Wilh. Wilhelmsen (WW) have agreed with Hyundai Heavy Industries to build four new Large Car and Truck Carriers (LCTC). In addition, OW and WW have also agreed with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering for the building of four LCTCs.

The Armed Forces has ordered three AOT™ water purifiers from Wallenius Water AB for the UN troops’ drinking water in Chad, central Africa. The purifiers are used on tankers that provide the troops with drinking water.
